2026 Recipients of the Staff Sergeant Alvin P. Carey, Private John C. Ewing, and Blacksmith Henry W.B. Mechlin Medal of Honor Scholarship

The Medal of Honor Scholarship Committee is pleased to recognize the three recipients of the 2026 Medal of Honor Scholarship. Each student is to be commended for her work ethic, extracurricular school activities, community service, and demonstrated leadership. The Scholarship Committee is pleased to provide each recipient with a $2,500 scholarship to continue her education. Ten scholarships have been awarded since the Medal of Honor Scholarship was founded in October 2022.

William Bee of Ligonier Valley High School has enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and will attend Saint Francis University
Jeffrey Craig (grandson of Private Ewing’s nephew), Donna Jones (second cousin of Staff Sergeant Carey, scholarship recipient Sara Blossey, Lieutenant Colonel Craig Minnick, U.S. Army, Retired (Founder of the Medal of Honor Scholarship)
Sara Blossey of Greater Latrobe High School will attend Point Park University
Scholarship recipient Bella Fullman and Lieutenant Colonel Craig Minnick, U.S. Army, Retired (Founder of the Medal of Honor Scholarship)
Scholarship recipient Bella Fullman of Mount Pleasant Area High School will attend Seton Hill University
